This January, SeenLabs is rolling out two exciting user role enhancements designed to simplify digital signage management and improve overall user oversight. By default, these tools are turned off, so you can decide exactly which roles should have access to them, ensuring you remain in complete control of your content and account settings.
If your Dynamic Playlist includes three or more apps, you can now lock up to two apps so their share of screen time remains fixed. Whenever your timeline falls to just one or two apps, any previously locked app will unlock automatically, keeping the content distribution balanced. Only those granted the appropriate user role permissions can lock or unlock apps, preventing accidental changes by unauthorized users.
How this helps you:
Want a quick snapshot of who has access to what? We’ve introduced a simple “Generate Users Report” button on the Users Tab. With one click, you can view every user associated with your account, see their user role, check when they last logged in, and confirm which Regions and Display Groups they can manage.
Benefits for your team:
These new features reinforce our dedication to giving you more dynamic control over both your content distribution and your team’s access. We’re excited to see how you’ll harness these tools to maximize your digital signage strategy!
SeenLabs now lets you lock one or two apps in a dynamic playlist so their screen-time percentages stay fixed. If your playlist has 3+ apps, you can choose up to two to "pin" at constant share. If you later reduce the playlist to one or two apps, any locked apps automatically unlock to rebalance. Importantly, only users with the right permissions can lock or unlock apps, preventing unauthorized changes.
Locking assures that high-priority content keeps its designated presence on screen no matter what else gets added or removed. For example, if you lock a promotional video at 30% share, adding a new ad won't shrink that share unexpectedly. This saves time and avoids drift. Locks prevent last-minute fluctuations, so you run smooth, predictable campaigns – confident that key promotions or announcements remain visible for the intended duration.
The new report button (on the Users tab) instantly compiles who has access to your account and what they can do. With one click, you see every user's name, role, last login time, and which display groups or regions they manage. It's a snapshot of your entire user permissions setup in one place.
They give managers tighter control and visibility. Locking apps reduces errors and overrides in content distribution, while the Users Report boosts accountability and oversight. You can quickly verify who can publish or change content, ensuring only authorized changes happen. Regularly checking this report helps enforce best practices and prevents forgotten or outdated permissions – critical for compliance.
Any organization with specialized roles. Marketing teams can lock time-sensitive campaigns for maximum impact, knowing exactly who can modify them. HR/internal comms can lock mandatory announcements so every employee sees them (and easily run reports for audits). Multi-region companies can assign different admins per region and then use one report to confirm everyone's permissions. In short, retail brands, franchises, or any multi-location enterprise will find these tools streamline control and visibility of their signage network.
